From Super Mario to The Witcher - A journey through the evolution of video game music and its visionary composers.
Video games are more popular than ever, and the market continues to grow rapidly. A significant part of their success lies in the music that underpins them. Since the first three tones of the arcade game Pong in 1972, game soundtracks have evolved tremendously – today they rival those of major Hollywood productions.
For the first time, a film takes a comprehensive and global look at the phenomenon of video game music. In search of the secret behind a successful soundtrack, we meet some of the world’s most renowned game composers, including Koji Kondo (Super Mario, Zelda), Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts), Chris Hülsbeck (Turrican), and P.T. Adamczyk (Cyberpunk 2077), whom we accompany during his work at The Witcher 4.
Curtain up for the sound artists who are shaping the soundtrack of entire generations!
